Dr. Eggman

The character Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is the man antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, created by Sega. Being a mad scientist, he constantly plans to conquer the world in order to fulfill his dream: to build his own Eggman Empire. He's the archenemy of Sonic, and wants to do everything in his power to stand as the last winner. Spme of Eggman's basic characteristics is his egg-shaped body, his sunglasses, his clothing in red, black and yellow, as well as his very large mustache.

Outside of appearing in almost every Sonic the Hedgehog video game, he's also a recurring character in other media such as comics, animations and novels.

Eggman loves machines and is often described as a genius with an IQ of 300. He doesn't care for others' opinions and never gives up on his desire to build the ultimate "utopia". Whoever interrupt his plans, becomes a prime threat and a target. Although Sonic has always ruined his evil plans, Eggman holds a secret respect for his determination.

Many of the robots in the earlier games are actually animals that Robotnik trapped in mechanical outfits. These are the same animals that Sonic frees at the end of each level.
