Rintaro Okabe

Rintarou Okabe (岡部 倫太郁) is a self-proclaimed mad scientist and the main protagonist of Steins;Gate. He is a student of Tokyo Electronics University and the founder of Future Gadget Laboratory, a small research laboratory devoted into creation of future gadgets for the betterment of mankind. He also likes to pose as an agent working against a certain "Organization" which he thinks is always after him, as he believes this kind of image gives him a cool and mysterious aura. He is one of the (accidental) inventors of the Future Gadget #8, Phone Microwave, which has the ability to send data back in time.
