Editorial overview
What it is
Advanced Strategic Command is a free (GPL), turn-based strategy wargame developed by Martin Bickel, who was a fan of Blue Byte's Battle Isle series but wanted to create a more robust game in the same tradition with greater moddability. The game was completed in development in 2013 and has had updates from time to time since.
Playable in single player and multiplayer mode via LAN, hot-seat mode, or Internet, the game features several playing modes, most of them intended for games against other human players, including a single-player campaign mode.
The map editor can be used to create own maps. If offers a great variety of terrain textures and buildings.
The latest build released for general usage, version 2.6.0, was released in early 2021.
