Editorial overview
What it is
Dive into the mysterious and dangerous universe of the SCP Foundation with ARKTIS SCP. Explore secret facilities, survive anomalies, and experience an intense, narrative-driven roleplay adventure.
The premise
The universe in which your character exists is very, or almost, identical to the real world (= same date as IRL), with two exceptions:
The anomalous exists.
England as a country does not exist.
The Disappearance of England:
This may have been learned by your character in school, but in the year 1066, Ireland took advantage of a war England was fighting on another front to reclaim territory. This gradually led to England’s defeat and the recovery of its lands by Ireland, which would later be known as the Kingdom of Ireland.
The Kingdom of Ireland took England’s place in its role during the events in America, thus creating historical tensions between the Kingdom of Ireland and France following French support for independence.
In 1845, the Kingdom of Ireland suffered a famine that was quickly brought under control thanks to European aid, easing tensions between the Kingdom of Ireland and France. Finally, the Commonwealth exists under the name “Comhlathas” and consists of 48 countries.
Anomalies in the world:
Your character is part of, or has been recruited by, the Foundation. Here is what they know, or have learned during their training:
SCP is an acronym for Secure, Contain, Protect.
The organization known as the “SCP Foundation” primarily seeks to contain and explain anomalies in order to protect the normal world.
The SCP Foundation is structured into sites—locations for long-term containment and experimentation—and zones, which are locations for short- or medium-term containment of an anomaly. Experiments and other containment procedures may take place there, but on a smaller scale, and team rotations are very important.
