Editorial overview
What it is
Artius is a fast-paced, momentum-based 2D platformer where you play as four unique artists fighting to preserve creativity in a world on the verge of artistic extinction. Dash, swing, and smash your way through vibrant, hand-drawn worlds inspired by art!
The premise
Rupestrine was a city renowned for its rich artistic history. The city earned its name thanks to the discovery of some of the oldest archaeological sites in the region, filled with cave paintings, petroglyphs, and other forms of rock art. Over time, this deep artistic heritage transformed the city into a cultural hub, attracting musicians, painters, sculptors, dancers, and all those involved in the fine arts. It was the home of our heroes: Pierre the Painter, Walter the Photographer, René The Musician and Guga The Dancer. They all studied at Rupestrine's EdAN Art University and lived fun, artistic lives.
One day, a jealous student named PIVOLO, envious of their talent and beloved by none, seized control of the mystical and magical ARTIUS book and imposed an anti-art regime over the city of Rupestrine, reshaping it according to his rigid and oppressive vision. As Pivolo’s tyranny spreads, society begins to question the value of art itself, forgetting its power to inspire, heal, and bring people together. It falls upon four heroes: each wielding their own unique creative abilities to challenge this bleak new reality!
