Editorial overview
What it is
Bubu Chuǎng Tōngguān is a Bomberman variant. Players control an octopus character that deploys black octopi functioning as bombs. These are used to destroy breakable blocks and eliminate enemies. The primary objective in each level is to locate a hidden key beneath destructible terrain. Once obtained, a skull icon appears on the field; detonating it reveals the exit door.
In addition to enemy threats, the game introduces environmental challenges such as conveyor belts and switches. Each level contains upgrades hidden under rocks that enhance the octopus's abilities, including bomb capacity, blast radius, and movement speed. These upgrades persist across levels. The game is structured into themed worlds - such as forests or bathrooms - each comprising multiple levels and culminating in a boss battle.
