Editorial overview
What it is
Earth and Beyond is a science fiction MMORPG set in a future where three human-descended races—Terrans, Progen, and Jenquai—control different regions of space. The Terrans dominate Earth through powerful trade corporations; the Progen, genetically engineered for strength and efficiency, inhabit Mars; and the Jenquai, focused on knowledge and exploration, occupy space stations orbiting Jupiter’s moons.
The premise
The discovery of an ancient stargate, initially concealed by the Jenquai and later revealed by a Terran spy, triggered the Gate War: a nine-year conflict among the three races. The war concluded with a ceasefire and an agreement to share control of the Gate. During this time, the Terran corporation InfinitiCorp secretly reverse-engineered the technology, resulting in the creation of the Infinitigate.
Fifty years later, the three races have expanded into multiple star systems. While peace persists, underlying distrust remains, and the possibility of renewed conflict continues to influence relations.
