Editorial overview
What it is
A rhythm game, developed as a collaboration between SEGA, Colorful Palette, and Crypton Future Media. Miku and her friends are famous fictional singers who exist in the real world as Virtual Singers. They perform songs created by producers from all over the world, and they also exist in “SEKAI,” a mysterious world separate from reality that is born from a person’s “true feelings.” The game focuses on original characters and their journeys to discover their true feelings with the help of the Virtual Singers.
The premise
The game is set in Shibuya, Tokyo. A girl named Hoshino Ichika, walks through the streets and sees an LCD screen displaying Hatsune Miku. Upon returning home, she discovers a song named "Untitled" on her smartphone. Out of curiously, Ichika plays the songs, only to get surrounded by a white light and arrive at an unknown place. Miku stands in front of Ichika, welcoming her to Sekai, and inviting her to sing together.
