What it is
Kung Fu Panda World was an MMORPG designed for targeting children ages 8 to 12-year-olds that was developed by DreamWorks Animation. By using kung fu style-based characters as avatars, players participated in a range of online games and activities in a virtual world featuring places from Kung Fu Panda. With a reported two and a half years of work and an investment of about $10 million, Kung Fu Panda World was launched and made available to the public on April 12, 2010.
At present time, the game has been discontinued and removed, though no reason was ever specified.
The premise
Kung Fu Panda World was an online virtual world and MMO game developed by DreamWorks Animation, based on the Kung Fu Panda film franchise. Players created their own customized animal characters and trained to become kung fu masters alongside characters like Po, Tigress, and Shifu. The game included a wide variety of mini-games, quests, and social activities in a browser-based world designed for children and fans of the films.
