Editorial overview
What it is
A 2020 April Fools "update" to the critically acclaimed fangame 'AM2R: Return of Samus'.
After exterminating the Metroids, Metroid: Eternal follows Samus as she returns to SR-388 to eliminate the Septogg threat as well, on the Galactic Federation's orders. This title is played from an old-school arcade perspective, with quick reflexes, item collection and strategic reloading being the main focus of the game.
The premise
Following the events of the Metroid II remake AM2R: Return of Samus (2016), Metroid: Eternal (2020) sees Samus embarking on a new bloodthirsty quest to destroy all of the Septoggs on planet SR-388. To do this, she'll have to collect Missile and Energy Tank expansions, and above all, quick reflexes. After all, the entire galaxy is at stake.
