What it is
Nagamaki Grind is a 2D hack and slash platformer with skate mechanics. You play as radical ronin samurai Timoshi (Tim to his friends), who has mastered their blade. Perfecting the art of bladeboarding: using their long-handled nagamaki as both deadly weapon and as a skateboard with which to skate the rooftops of Edo Japan.
The premise
Rendered lovingly in the gorgeous Ukiyo-e woodblock print art style, grind on shrine rooftops, ollie between the pagodas and kickflip off the heads of the shogun's men to blade down the enemies who oppose you.
Nagamaki Grind emphasizes responsive arcade skate movement in a 2D environment and blends that with action gameplay. Flow like water and keep your combo and multipliers going - build your score or speed through, seeking a fast time.
