Editorial overview
What it is
Quiz Academy is a family-friendly trivia game released in 1998, where players aim to reach the top of a pyramid by relying on their general knowledge and a bit of luck. The game board consists of about ten steps, and at each step, players are presented with a question from a randomly selected category. The categories cover a wide range of topics, including Geography, Sports, History, Animals, Plants, Entertainment, Art, and Science, along with special surprise picture rounds where players memorize an image for 10 seconds.
Players choose from a cast of characters represented by six differently colored pigs: Purple, Yellow, Blue, Red, Green, and Orange. Answering questions correctly earns the player money to advance to the next step, and accumulates points that unlock academic titles, progressing from "No degree" up to "Genius with honorary prize". A final question at the top of the pyramid determines the ultimate winner.
