What it is
Special Force Remastered is a modernized, team-based tactical first-person shooter (FPS) developed by DRAGONFLY GF CO., LTD. that officially launched in Early Access on March 24, 2026. Rebuilt completely in Unreal Engine 5, the game serves as a faithful visual and technical upgrade to the iconic 2004 classic military shooter Special Force 1. It preserves the nostalgic combat flow, precise skill-driven movement, and distinct gun recoil of the original while adding modern matchmaking, structural gameplay balance, and tactical progression layers.
The premise
Like many classic arcade-style tactical shooters from the early 2000s, Special Force Remastered does not feature a narrative campaign or story mode. Instead, its premise relies entirely on a grounded military setup. Elite global special forces units are pitted against each other in high-stakes, round-based tactical skirmishes. Players step into the shoes of iconic, real-world international counter-terrorism and special operations teams. Rather than a cinematic narrative, the "story" is told through its objective-based multiplayer maps. The teams clash globally over weaponized assets, hostage situations, or territorial domination in environments like Desert Camp, Satellite, and Nerve Gas.
