Tactical Manager 3 is a football/soccer management game that puts the player in charge of a professional club chosen from the approximately 1200 clubs available in the 68 divisions that are supported.

As a manager, the player can buy and sell players from the 30,000 in the game database, choose a line-up, and pick tactics. All matches are played in turn and during the ones involving their team, the player is able to intervene, make substitutions, inspect performance, mark players, etc. If their rating is good enough, they can also be in charge of a national team for the World Cup.

A total of twelve sessions can be played in parallel. The game can also be played online against other players.
