VALORANT is set in a near-future Earth after a mysterious event called First Light grants select individuals powerful abilities through a resource known as Radianite. The VALORANT Protocol is formed to respond to escalating threats involving this energy, as tensions rise between Alpha Earth and its alternate counterpart, Omega Earth.

Both worlds become connected through a mirror dimension, leading to repeated incursions where Omega Earth agents attempt to extract Radianite from Alpha Earth.
