New Starbreeze Publishing AB was founded in December 2019 after the company was split following a long restructuring process that involved multiple extensions, layoffs. divesting from various studios, canceling console ports and selling game IP rights.

Starbreeze Publishing holds the IP rights to all Starbreeze's projects and now handles all publishing work on existing digital storefronts. The planned release of The Tribe Must Survive in 2023 is set to be the first game published since the company was restructured.
